Who are we supporting?
Let Voice be Heard is a Human Rights organisation which supports LGBT+ Refugee and People seeking asylum from Bangladesh living in the UK as well as LGBT+ people facing discrimination in their home country.
Let there be a voice for you, voice for freedom of speech, freedom of practice and freedom of living.
Why?
People seeking asylum have no recourse to public funds and need to be able to survive on LESS THAN £40 per week! That’s supposed to cover all of their weekly needs ! With the cost of life increased due to the pandemic of COVID19 and support services massively reduced , this already impossible situation has been made so much worse. Their mental health has substantially deteriorated.
Third Gender people in Bangladesh cannot hide themselves and have traditionally been reduced to begging to survive, this has now been made impossible due to the COVID19 pandemic
There is no support from government as LGBT+ are illegal.
We need your help and we need it now.
You can give money or you can donate laptops or mobile phone or buy phone credit. People seeking asylum cannot get a contract phone so they only get pay as you go .
Why Laila and not the organisation?
The organisation and the people they support do not have the means not the language proficiency to advocate for themselves
What will the money be used for?
Weekly food parcel for 75 people seeking asylum
Mobile phone credit
Toiletries
To pay for travel and taxi for people with health conditions
To support people in UK and LGBT+ and third gender people in Bangladesh
